“Housing Vermont’s New Markets Tax Credit program has flourished under Beth’s direction,” Nancy said. “We look forward to Beth bringing her talents to this new position.”
As a member of the senior staff, Beth will be responsible for broadening and maintaining strong alliances with affordable housing and community development investment and business partners, identifying and securing resources, developing New Markets Tax Credit business opportunities, directing multi-investor and proprietary housing equity funds, and staffing Investment Committees and VRV boards.
Joining Housing Vermont in 2012 as Senior Investment Officer, Beth has directed its New Markets Tax Credit program for the past six years. Her career in the economic and community development field spans 20 years, first as an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer at the Low Income Housing Institute and loan officer and credit analyst at Evergreen Community Development Association in Seattle, Washington. Beth returned to Vermont as a lender, development officer, and grant fund administrator at the Vermont Community Loan Fund.
Prior to joining Housing Vermont, Beth was a Community Development Specialist for the Vermont Community Development Program where she provided community outreach and reviewed grant applications, analyzed business plans and financial statements. She serves on or has served the Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program Technical Committee, Community Capital of Vermont Board and loan review committee, and the City of Montpelier’s Business Loan and Community Fund committees. Beth grew up in Bennington and received her BS in Geography from the University of Vermont. She lives in Montpelier with her husband, Andy, and two daughters, Isabelle and Lillian.
